Owner update 17th November 2014
"Just letting you know my beloved cat Clawde is at last home with his Mummy after a heart wrenching month. He turned up in a skinny state in a kind family's garden a week ago & they nursed him back to health. They saw my poster on a lamp post. Thankyou for all your help, kindness & support."
An Pupdate on Edison our Sponsored Guide Dog Puppy
The Cat Friendly Clinic is an accreditation scheme run by the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) and several other partners worldwide. It lays out numerous requirements regarding the ethos, design, equipment and facilities within the clinic. Importantly, it also covers the quality of care provided to cats, the level of staff understanding of cats and their needs in the clinic to successfully achieve accreditation standards.
Eastcott is unique in having both a very strong first opinion (GP) veterinary group and a specialist referral (consultant) group all under the same roof so that, if the need arises, you can be confident that your pets will receive the best possible care without the inconvenience and stress of having to transport your pet.
Introducing our new Guide Dog puppy...and it's a BOY!
We were disappointed to hear that our first Guide Dog puppy Edison had to be withdrawn from training and had been waiting for a new puppy. This had held up a little by a lack of puppy walkers. Then, all of a sudden we were offered this gorgeous little chap and could not resist. We felt that the only appropriate name for a puppy bought through the fundrasing efforts of Eastcott staff and clients was Edison (Mk 2!) after our hospital.
Every year Eastcott Vets support a pet charity. Last year we supported Canine Partners a charity that provides assistance dogs for the disabled,. This year we are supporting PAT (Pets as Therapy). We know all about PAT dogs and our vet Richard Gowshall is a PAT dog assessor but we were not aware that PAT use PAT cats too!
