In 2010 with your help we raised £10,000 to sponsor a Guide Dog puppy. Many of you have been following Edison’s progress.

Edison our sponsored Guide Dog puppy

Sadly Edison has been removed from the training programme. Edison showed low willingness to the training and it was decided it would not be in his best interest to progress his training further. Once withdrawn a puppy is assessed to see if it is suitable to be an assistance dog in another capacity, e.g. a hearing dog, or a Guide Dogs Buddy Dog, which work with blind or partially sighted children to improve their quality of life and counter isolation. However, Edison was not considered suitable for either of these pathways and he has been found a new home with one of Guide Dogs’ pre-approved rehomers.
As a result of Edison’s withdrawal from the programme we need to rename a new puppy! If you would like to suggest any names (suitable for a female dog this time), This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. We will choose the 3 most popular names and submit them to Guide Dogs for approval
