Todd is a very special cat who was brought into us in March by a member of the public in March. He had been involved in a road traffic accident and had sustained the following injuries:
- Fractured pelvis
- Fractured right femur
- Dislocated right hip
- Fractured canine tooth
We scanned Todd but sadly he didn't have an identichip or a collar and tag so we had no way of contacting his owners.
We contacted the RSPCA who gave us permission to virus test him (he was negative for Felv/FIV). Sadly they didn't have any space for him at the hospital and said his injuries were too extensive for them to treat.
Todd is a young cat and we knew we could fix his injuries so did not want to put him to sleep. So, it was agreed that Carly, one of our vets who has an interest in orthopaedics would operate on him with the assistance of Duncan who has certificate of small animal surgery (CertSAS) and is currently studying for his diploma in orthopaedics. Carly and Duncan did an excellent job and after 3 months in hospital Todd has a clean bill of heath and is ready for a new home.
Todd was very fortunate to have such experienced and well qualified vets caring for him.
Todd is now at Yate Animal Rescue, where they will hopefully find him the loving home that he deserves. If you are interested in giving Todd a new home, or if you know who Todd belongs to, please contact Yate Animal Rescue
Our thanks to Yate Animal Rescue for fostering Todd until he finds a new home.
