Lydiard Bark Dog Show 5th August 2018 POSTPONED - NOW 19TH AUGUST 2018
The Lydiard Bark Dog Show What You Need to Know
IMPORTANT ANNOUCEMENT LYDIARD BARK DATE CHANGE
The decision not to go ahead with this Sunday's show was not a difficult one. The majority of dog shows in the UK over the last 3 weeks, including Dog Fest have been cancelled due to the high temperatures. The predicted temperature on 5th is expected to be 28-29 degrees and we cannot put your dogs at risk for what is a day of fun. What has been difficult, is feeling that we would be letting down our charity The Cinnamon Trust, our wonderful and varied traders and also, of course, all of the dogs who bring their owners along for a great day out. With this in mind, with the help of Lydiard Park, we are delighted to say that we have managed to reschedule the Lydiard Dog Bark Show, which will now be held on 19th August 2018. We really hope that you can still join us. A big thank you to all of the Eastcott staff who have volunteered for both dates. Please help us to share the date change. Local banners will be changed shortly.
What is the Lydiard Bark Charity Dog Show?

It is a friendly event with a country feel and is run by volunteers from the Eastcott Vets Team in their free time. It is a fun event for dog owners and their dogs and is well supported by donations and sponsorship from local and national businesses. This is the 5th Lydiard Bark Charity Dog Show. The charity this year is The Cinnamon Trust

The Show is at Lydiard Park in Swindon. It is on the Events Field which is best accessed via the Hook Street entrance. How much are dog show classes?
Classes are £3 per class - all proceeds will go to charity.
Can I enter a puppy into the Lydiard Bark Dog Show?
Fully vaccinated puppies are welcome to come to the show. It is a great way of socialising them. If entering a 'size' class, they should be entered into the class taking into account the size that they will be when fully grown.
How are the dog show classes judged?
This is a fun show and judges will be looking and dogs themselves and talking to their owners about their dog's backgrounds and accessing their characters. The judges' decisions are final!
What is the Lydiard Bark Games Ring?
The Games Ring is run by Speak Dog Training and Behaviour and Wagging Tails Home from Home Boarding. They will be running games throughout the day so that you can visit and participate between show classes, or indeed visit for the games alone. Games can be booked and paid for on the day.
The Lydiard Bark Raffle
The now famous Lydiard Bark raffle is made up of very generous prizes. The raffle will be drawn after the last class.
What else is there to do at the dog show?
Trade stalls surround the show ring making it easy to visit whilst keeping an eye on the rings. There will be refreshments, dog related goods, face painting and games for the children. We are positioned next to the children's play area (and there are toilets nearby). As this is an outdoor event, we advise that you bring cash as some of traders will not have the ability to take card payments. See who is coming.
What happens if it is hot?
There will be a shaded cool down area for dogs if the weather is unduly warm. Water, sponges and sprays will be available to help keep dogs cooled. Vets and clinical staff are available to access the condition of dogs throughout the day and will advise accordingly if a dog or dogs should be considered at risk of over heating.
