Soft Tissue Surgery

This is an x-ray of a dog's chest who presented as an emergency. There is a tumour within the right lung that has ruptured leading to a massive accumulation of air within the chest (pneumothorax). This case was stabilised and then taken straight to surgery where the lumg tumour (and source of the leak) was successfully removed. The dog went home 3 days later.

Soft tissue surgical referrals are accepted by our senior ST surgeon - Tim Charlesworth MA VetMB CertSAS MRCVS. Tim is currently studying towards the RCVS diploma in soft tissue surgery spending 2 months of the year acting as a surgical resident at a specialist referral centre and the remainder of his time here at Eastcott Veterinary Hospital. Tim is happy to receive referrals in any area of soft tissue surgery and any inquiries shoud be directed to him on (01793) 528341 or e-mail referrals@eastcottvets.co.uk. Although the majority of soft tissue cases can be handled at Eastcott Veterinary Hospital, there may be cases that would benefit from being seen at a multi-discipline specialist referral centre and in this instance, onward referral to such a centre would be encouraged. Tim is happy to give telephone advice and to see any case by appointment.

To refer a patient to Tim please contact reception on 01793 528341 or download a referral form & fax to 01793 608208.
