Introducing our Pet Bereavement Supporter

We are pleased to announce that Client Care Team Member Sandie Rule has achieved the SCAS/Blue Cross qualification in offering Support in Pet Bereavement and is now Eastcott's Pet Bereavement Supporter. We understand how hard it is to even think about the passing of a much beloved pet but if you find at this very sad and difficult time that it is not possible or easy to talk to friends or family and that independent support would be welcome, Sandie will be pleased to help. This confidential service is free and if you feel that this support would help you, do please contact our Client Care Team on 01793 528341 who will be able to assist you in booking an appointment with our Bereavement Supporter.

A poem from our memorial book - IF IT SHOULD BE If it should be that I grow weak And pain should keep me from my sleep, Then you must do what must be done, For this last battle cannot be won. You will be sad, I understand. Don't let your grief then stay your hand. For this day, more than all the rest, Your love for me must stand the test. We've had so many happy years. What is to come can hold no fears. You'd not want me to suffer so; The time has come -- please let me go. Take me where my need they'll tend, And please stay with me till the end. Hold me firm and speak to me, Until my eyes no longer see. I know in time that you will see The kindness that you did for me. Although my tail its last has waved, From pain and suffering I've been saved. Please do not grieve -- it must be you Who had this painful thing to do. We've been so close, we two, these years; Don't let your heart hold back its tears. --- Anonymous ---

Parvo Virus Alert

We have seen several cases of Parvo Virus in recent weeks. There was a nasty outbreak last year. Many dogs and puppies were infected and sadly within Swindon many died. Whilst we can provide intensive care support for those infected, there is no specific treatment or cure, so it is vital to ensure that your dog is vaccinated in both puppyhood and adult life. Unfortunately, it is very stable in the environment, so any animal which sheds the virus not only contaminates the environment, but poses a risk to other animals as well.
