Infectious cases are hospitalised in our Isolation Ward
It is important to be able to treat infectious cases in the hospital as many need intensive treatment and round the clock nursing. Our Isolation Ward can sit empty for long periods of time but can be full during local outbreaks of viruses such as Canine Parvovirus. We seen outbreaks of such cases every year. Strict barrier nursing is essential when treating dogs with Parvovirus. Suits are worn in the isolation ward where they are disposed of after one use. Despite the safety measures this ward is just a comfortable as our other wards and animals certainly don't miss out on comfort, facilities and most definitely do not miss out on TLC.
