Fun Facts About the Basenji

2 BassenjisDid you know?

The Basenji has no bark. Basenjis are not entirely silent however. Their unusually shaped larynx causes them to produce a "yodel" often called a "barroo" and can also growl, whimper, whine, and scream! This African hunting dog is likened to the Dingo and is said to be odourless. They clean themselves like a cat and like cats they hate the wet and cold. The Basenji has alert pricked ears with the characteristic puzzled frown and a tightly curled tail.
