Alert re attempted theft of dog in Pinehurst

"I have only just found out about this. It happened to my dog this morning ! Please share! Attempted dog theft alert! Happened at about 10am Sunday 21st July. My 20yr old daughter (who looks younger) was walking 2 of my dogs, a female tan lurcher and a male big collie. The man was calling " here doggy doggy!" Went the lurcher stopped to sniff, the man tried grab the lurcher, the collie ran over to the lurcher and barked scaring the man. My daughter called the dogs and put them on the leads and walked off the man followed her. She saw a friend who walked her home. the man trying to steal the lurcher walked off before they got back to the house. This happened on some grass land between Pinehurst rd and Tovey rd in Pinehurst, Swindon. Description of Dog napper Blue & White top Blue jeans Dirty Blonde hair"

Please keep a watchful eye out when walking your dogs. Thefts and attempted thefts are on the increase, we have had reports of dogs being targeted in their gardens.
