Concerns over accidental permetherin misuse in cats

Bob Martin is to remove its 'on-animal' flea products containing permethrin from sale to reduce the risk of misuse and misunderstanding around the permethrin the active ingredient. Permethrin is poisonous to cats and often owners are not aware of this and are often mistakenly using products intended for dogs on their cats. Permethrin poisoning in cats is one of the most common poisonings seen in cats by vets.Bob Martin Spot On
In 2013 International Cat Care Lauched a campaign highlighting the issue and moved to get permetherin based products re-classified. This alongside social media and online campaigns seem to have put pressure on Bob Martin to respond. These products may now be classified so that those purchasing will be given suitably qualified advise as to their safe use.
Bob Martin are not the only company that sells Permethrin 'on animal' flea products. If you are unsure about the safety of the flea products that you are using, please contact us for advise. Bob Martin 'Double Action Spot' on does not contain Permethrin.
